In front of the crucial Cauvery River Authority (CRA) meeting, to become organized by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and attended by chief ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mandya observed a number of protests on Tuesday. The CRA meeting would choose Tamil Nadu’s interest in 40 tmcft of Cauvery water.
JD(S) youth wing people, brought by condition vice-leader Ashok Jairam and former MLC K T Srikante Gowda, got a “semi-nude” procession around the busy Bangalore-Mysore highway. They advised the Pm to deal with the problem seriously, using the plight from the maqui berry farmers within the Cauvery basin into account.

Meanwhile, LIC agents and sugarcane farmers, mounted on Mysugar factory, became a member of a few days-lengthy protests and dharna at Silver Jubilee Park here. Several leaders, including Cauvery River Protection Committee chairman G Made Gowda, Mega pixel N Chaluvarayanaswamy, former Union minister and actor Ambareesh, former ministers P M Narendraswamy and M S Athmananda, and MLAs Suresh Gowda, M Srinivas, C S Puttaraju, Kalpana Siddaraju and Ramesh Babu took part in the dharna.
Srikante Gowda stated if Tamil Nadu’s interest in 40 tmcft water was recognized Karnataka would have less than 23 tmcft water in the tanks. Tamil Nadu had three more several weeks of monsoon while Karnataka didn't have wants better rains because the season had ended, he stated. Gowda advised Exterior Matters Minister S M Krishna, former chief minister M Veerappa Moily yet others within the Union Cabinet to correctly apprise the Pm from the situation winning Karnataka.
